26 Comments:

  1. Great numbers for Home and Away and great to see it ahead of A Current Affair in all 5 cities. Are those numbers higher than at the same time last year? It was an excellent episode last night and hope they keep this standard up. Great to see the photo of Summer Bay House featured last night, I saw news elsewhere stating it was the first time in 12 years however I think they did show a photo of SBH in at least one of last year’s episodes.

  2. Agree with comments about Nine having worn out The Block. Twice a year is just silly in the long run. People will get bored and then they bring older contestants back to make it even more boring. Contestants in a reality show are not Celebrities Nine.

800K + will be a good settling point for the celebrity show on Ten if they can achieve that, they will be at least a bit happy I would think.

  3. B. BangTheory and then a repeat of BBT, beat new shows on Ten etc.

How sad that viewers are rewarding repeats. Next thing is FTA TV has no new shows and just shows repeats of old rubbish similar to most Foxtel channels. It is a sad direction the metered viewers are taking us to 🙁

Watched MKR. Staged like last year but still just watchable. Recorded 72 Judge John Deed and Waking… and I’m a Celebrity … off Ten.

  4. IAAC won’t struggle, it will be a hit later on in the week. I notice that The Project’s numbers lifted by like 200k. So it seems the show is lifting Ten. Ten purposely aired IAAC on Thursdays as it worked well for MCA. MCA and IAAC are like on par but that is a great figure considering what its up against.

  5. Secret Squirrel

@spectrum warrior – ratings season starts next week. School is back tho’ so people have returned from holiday or holiday-mode. Mainly, it’s the content. Content is king.

@chivasssimo – sorry to break it to you but 750k is likely to be the top of the range with numbers eventually stabilising in the 600’s or even FF territory.

  6. Looks like all the women out there can’t get enough of Manu’s soft French accent. They’re all in a trance for the entire show thus explaining the huge female ratings.

  7. Maybe I’m one of I those 1.5mil who live for mkr.. I’m very glad it killed the competition last night. As for I’m a celeb , I do hope they put it for half an hour at 7pm. It’s a neat show… But it’s one I record not watch live!

  8. bettestreep2008

Kinda expected 1.5m for MKR. After all we have been bombarded with ads ever since October last year and every 2 minutes during the tennis.

2m people watched the mens final so every single one of these viewers would have seen at least twenty or thirty promos during the 4 hour match.

As for IACGMOOH – everyone expected its figures would go down against MKR – but to be almost neck and neck with that Mitre 10 commercial on Nine is a good result.

And like others posting here – I had a few hearty chuckles throughout the 75 minutes or so.

Joel Creasey is a real find. Reminds me of a younger Graham Thornton don’t you think?

    He is deliciously entertaining.

  9. Yesterday I’m a Celebrity started off pretty well, then this show started to lose 300-400k viewers. Let’s hope this show will keep these numbers constant.

  10. Last nights episode of my kitchen rules was brilliant ! I have been waiting all year for it to come back because it is the only reality show I actually enjoy .
I watched 10s I’m a celebrity – for about 5 excruciating minutes before I could bare it no longer … Bad bad casting 10 .
I know you were never going to get celebrities with any kind of status – but you could have at least put some in with a personality .

The whole show seems very tacky … And Julia and Chris trying to make jokes every 5 seconds with the crew fake laughing in the background – stop … Just stop ..

  11. We have a clear winner. Now hopefully Seven will figure out what TV I get to pick from next week.

They are all “god awful” TV but over 3.2m people love them, a lot of them under 40. And that’s twice what Ten was rating on Monday night two years ago, they will be happy.

  12. spectrum warrior

I’ll never understand ratings. Over the “off season” seven news struggled to make 800k. Ratings season starts and people magically come back to over a million. Go figure.

  13. I am really loving I’m a Celebrity. Agree with Jayfunk – very funny. Julia Morris and Dr Chris are a great combo. Has been far too long since anything on TV made me actually lol. Love it!

  14. Not great numbers for the block (about time I think)
Hopefully 9 won’t commit to another season this year and the other renovation show with the twins.
Perhaps another drama instead of reality please

  15. Thanks for the footnote DK. Really am disappointed in MKR’s “success”. Its a god awful show, I could list all the problems but we’re well aware of them. Interesting to see The Block and I’m a Celeb go neck – to – neck in ratings. I PVR’d The Block, only 43 minutes of new content, can easily be an hour long ep…
I’m a Celeb has us in fits of laughter, loving it! It seems so real and raw and that’s what I’m looking for…Shame about the dip in numbers. Wake up Aus– MKR is dribble..

  16. Ouch. Im a Celb loses 37% of its audience in just 24 hours. You’d think 10 would have learn from putting new shows up against the highest rating shows on television but they haven’t.

This would be a great 30 min show at 7pm. Much less competition.
