NITV appoints new Commissioning Editor

Screen Australia’s Investment Development Manager, Mary-Ellen Mullane, will join NITV.

2015-02-19_2358NITV has appointed a new Senior Commissioning Editor in Mary-Ellen Mullane.

Mullane, currently Screen Australia’s Investment Development Manager has led commissioning in documentary, drama and digital, both independently and through Screen Australia’s Indigenous Unit, including The Tall Man, Croker Island Exodus and Black Panther Woman.

Tanya Denning-Orman, NITV Channel Manager, said: “Mary-Ellen’s extensive expertise in the Australian production sector will be invaluable to NITV’s future direction. Her previous experience and understanding of working collaboratively with Indigenous producers compliments the NITV strategy and will help grow the storytelling of Australia’s First Peoples. I very much look forward to welcoming Mary-Ellen to the team.”

Mullane added: “To have the opportunity to work for the National Indigenous broadcaster in its significant role in reflecting and defining Australian Indigenous culture through the powerful medium of television, is an amazing honour and privilege.”

She will commence her position at NITV on 17 March following the departure of Pauline Clague. Mark Ella continues to oversee Internal Productions and Sport.
