The official ratings year got underway a week ago, but this week Consolidated data for the final week of non-ratings enables us to look back at the results for summer.
Seven won in Total People for the 8th summer in a row.
Network:
Seven: 28.7
Nine: 26.7
TEN: 20.1
ABC: 18.2
SBS: 6.2
Primary channel:
Seven: 20.0
Nine: 18.4
TEN: 13.0
ABC: 12.6
SBS ONE: 4.7
But Nine won the demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Seven won Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Nine ranked first in Sydney.
Seven won 7 weeks and tied 1with Nine. Nine won 2Â weeks and tied 1 with Seven.
The top rated show over summer was the Australian Open Men’s Final at 1.88m viewers, followed by the match with Kyrgios v Murray (1.85m), My Kitchen Rules episodes in the final week of summer (1.82m and 1.71m), Asian Cup Aus v Korea (Extra time: 1.65m), NYE Midnight Fireworks (1.54m), My Kitchen Rules (1.49m) and Carols by Candlelight (1.49m).
Best for TEN was the Opening Night of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! (1.22m). This week TEN advised it had increased its share by 4% in 25-54s, however the results are for weeks 1-7 (rather than all of summer) for 6pm – 10:30pm (rather than 6pm – midnight) and don’t indicate if this is a commercial network share or not.

As long as young people keep watching repeats of TBBT Nine is going to win the younger demographics.
Dave
Do we have the % shares for 25-54 for each channel (including digis)?
Also do we have FTA share V STV share for the summer.
FTA viewing normally drops and STV surges ins summer – but these numbers issued by OZTM (owned by the networks) of course exclude that.
