The Good Wife: Feb 18

2015-02-17_1152An interesting title card runs before this week’s episode of The Good Wife on TEN.

“This episode was written and filmed prior to the grand jury decisions in Ferguson and Staten Island … All mentions of ‘Ferguson’ are in reference to the events in August 2014 after the shooting death of Michael Brown.”

In the US the episode broadcast was criticised, a rarity for such an acclaimed show. Too soon perhaps?

The race to become State’s Attorney begins to take its toll on Alicia (Julianna Margulies) when she is informed that she is several points behind her competitor, Frank Prady (David Hyde Pierce), in the polls.

She has the opportunity to regain some ground in the crucial candidates’ debate when she squares off against Frank, but is thrown when the media choose to focus on another potential personal scandal.

Peter (Chris Noth) and the city of Chicago prepare for a potential riot off the back of a controversial ruling in a case where a young black man died at the hands of the police. Peter turns to his Pastor Jeremiah Easton (Frankie Faison) for guidance, but soon finds himself questioning his own relationship with God.

9:30pm Wednesday on TEN.
