Hi David,
I have a question you may be able to help with.
When a show is simulcast on a multi channel, does the viewership get recorded as a percentage for the channel it is viewed on or is the percentage combined and used in the primary channel figure?
I ask as people have commented that ONE’s numbers have been low. could this be because TEN is using the figure and applying it to the primary channel instead of where the viewing is actually occurring?
I hope this makes sense. lol
My understanding is when a title is simulcast a network has the option of having it merged into a single figure -or not having it merged. The channel share remains untouched.
thank you for that.
well it appears that ONE viewers are not sticking around to watch IAC. A lesson to networks.
I’m a Celebrity is TV gold! Watching it every night.
MKR is lowest common denominator stuff.
TV gold ??
Lol please…you either work for channel 10 or you have horrible horrible taste .. Because Chris and Julia’s lame jokes & overweight hairy ” celebrities ” sitting around a camp fire is as far from television gold as you can possibly get
Work for Channel 10? Hardly.
Just your regular punter who has had a gutful of the sort of mindless garbage channel 7 (in particular) roll out. The people on MKR must feel used up and exploited by the end of the show.
I’m a Celebrity is refreshing. Not overdone and there are some great characters in this lineup. I’m sure I’ll get sick of it after a season or two but for now it is fun to watch.
Fair enough . – I’d guess that this will be celebs one and only season though . You should watch the uk version … Much much much better
I watched about 20 minutes of Gogglebox last night and it is quite possibly the worst show I have ever seen.
Is the MASH ep that rated 181k the 6.30pm or the 7.00pm ep?
I believe 7pm.
Thanks. Thats what I thought too.
With TEN screening the identical episode of Googlebox on FTA tonight, i am wondering if Lifestyle has been barred from airing any repeats until the TEN broadcast
Pleased to see gogglebox was very popular on foxtel
Pity that I’m a celebrity isn’t rating higher. So much better than the terrible block.
ONE’s share was very low.
Possibly because 100 mins of the 360 involved in prime time ratings were a Ten simulcast!
Was going to watch the new show Forever, but then saw it was a double episode, and it was on Nine who would almost certainly dump it week after next so I didn’t bother.
Winter took a tumble in the demos. And I’m surprised Gogglebox did so well for Foxtel. Will be interesting to see what happens on Ten tonight.
I didn’t even consider watching forever after they took off Step Dave after 1 episode. Why even bother?
Same here. Anyone see it? Any good?
It is a shame a show is judged on the network it is on….but I understand…I also gave up on Nine a long time ago…ok for the odd one off….but to risky for a series…all trust gone.
IACGMOOH was never gonna do well with MKR. I think Ten shouldn’t have shelled big bucks on a show that was going to rate between 500k-650K. It’s a slight improvement to TBL but the cost of producing it would outweigh any demographic wins they are getting.
If it returns in 2016 – they should just film it in Fiji or Thailand. These countries have ‘jungles’ don’t they?
However I have a feeling it won’t be returning.
My Bitchin’ Rules has been a mega ratings success and its purely because Seven’s marketing department started brainwashing viewers since October last year and every couple of minutes during the Australian Open.
So The Block and I’m a Celebrity combined had less viewers than My Kitchen Rules – and Mad as Hell beat both 9 & 10’s offerings. Just saying.
