  1. David, please tell me Revenge didn’t go below 500,000. The numbers will be better next week with MKR and the “hint” of a character being killed or murdered on the promo

  2. Agree, self regulating should be changed, what is to say they are not exaggerating the numbers. Also it appears channel 9 can only get good numbers on The Block anyway when My Kitchen Rules are not on the scene, personally am not interested in either.

  3. Perhaps every show should be split into two of three parts for a higher lift in ratings numbers
E.g Home and Away first 8 minutes,
Home and Away second 8 minutes,
Home and Away last 6 minutes.

The triple Block room and regular show is ridiculous when it is not a finale and even then it is annoying. OZTAM needs to be externally regulated as do the networks, self regulation is a joke!

    • Oztam is doing the best it can I suppose. Have watched their detailed date for years when I was working at Ten. It is somewhere near the mark, even with the low sampling rate. One day TV will be streamed totally over the Internet. Then data will be close to ideal. In the meantime this is the best possible.

What annoys me is that Networks split programs now, even the stupid news hour to try and get as many spots in the top 20 as possible. That can be looked at and changed. The sooner the better. Ratings should be measured per show, not half hourly slots.

If you look at the TV Week ratings now, reduced to just the top 10 shows, it has totally destroyed that table and I don’t even bother looking at it now. The industry must change these things if they want to keep public respect. So come on TV Week, return to the top 20 shows or drop that useless table totally.

  4. Watched Frost on 72.
Recorded Waking the Dead on 72.
Recorded Undercover Boss on ONE and watched later that night. Always brings tears to my eyes near the end. A really good program imho.
    Recorded Elementary on 10.
Looked up F1 results on the Internet. Will only watch when Ten show it live and in full on ONE.

    • The Block: 3x Threat is doing quite well without having to compete with MKR. I’d think that 9 is demonstrating some improvement during the Easter Non-Ratings Period.

    • bettestreep2008

Steven G – totally agree. Last nights ep was excellent.

Ten unfortunately have mucked around with its slot so much that people probably don’t even know its on.

Same goes for the equally excellent Good Wife which has been treated appallingly by Ten.

Another show that has been stuffed around is Modern Family. The ‘Rashomon’ episode on Sunday night was one of the best eps ever…and that too barely rated. Fancy putting brand new eps up against a cricket final and during school holidays. What did they expect?

And no doubt they’ll premiere Masterchef immediately after the MKR finale. Because Ten obviously thinks people want another cooking reality show after 6 long months of MKR. ( the promos started in October last year folks!)

      • Ten have too many in that category. I do not watch any of them now apart from the NCIS original. Do not watch the spin-off. I strongly dislike ( Is that better David 😉 ) spin-off’s for any TV show. Ten is partly to blame for their dilemma due to too many Law and Order versions over the last ten years.

Also Masterchef is still our preferred cooking competition and when you look around in the real world:
M/Chef has created businesses in Australia and Idol still has the record of creating music stars. So Ten does something right. Just never defends itself when the others trash their shows with bad articles etc. Even TV Week owned by Bauer acts as if 9 and/or 7 still owns it. Hard to figure out but Ten has a huge mountain to climb to recover from all the negatives and sometimes for excellent TV shows, to make it even sadder 🙁 That lack of defending the Ten brand has always annoyed…
