Million Dollar Minute champ Andrew Skarbek failed to secure his million dollar prize yesterday, but lives to fight another day.

Having now survived 19 episodes, he breezed through the elimination round 70 points clear of his nearest rival. But he fell short of the top prize on two of the five final questions.

If he wins the $1,016,000 (including $16,000 safe money) he nabs the biggest cash prize ever offered in Australian television history.

Host Simon Reeve said: “Andrew is clearly one of the best players we’ve ever had… with a surname that translates to ‘Little Treasure’ in Polish, Andrew Skarbek has proven he is worth more than his weight in gold”.

He returns today at 5.30pm for another shot.

NB: TV Tonight will be filing results 7pm AEDT if he wins the top prize.

  1. I can understand Seven wanting to string this out as long as possible but is it me or have the 5 questions at the end gone from fairly answerable to near impossible in the past few days?

  2. My parents and I wish Andrew all the best. He deserves the million as he has had a hard life with cancer and answered lots of questions. On Million Dollar Minute’s Facebook page there is a great deal of interest in bringing back all the big winners to play off against each other.
