IQ3 launch now “next few months”?

"We're hoping for a release over the next few months," according to latest advice from Foxtel.

A launch date for the IQ3 continues to be something of a moving target for Foxtel subscribers with conflicting statements about precisely when it will be available.

After missing its original February date, some subscribers were recently advised via email, “There’s been a slight delay as we want to make sure that the iQ3 delivers the best experience possible, so we need a bit more time to make a few more tweaks before we open up for orders. We apologise for this and are working to a new launch date in March. We’ll let you know just as soon as it’s ready.”

But last week on Twitter, that statement from Foxtel had varied ever so slightly, “There’s been a slight delay as we want to make sure that the iQ3 delivers the best experience possible, so we need a bit more time to make a few more tweaks before we open up for orders. We’re hoping for a release over the next few months. Stay tuned!

  1. This is a joke alright. ridiculous if its not released by end of the month they gona lose more then 50 percent of there customers. Netflix and others gona hammer and smash them out of the park. Also all the stuff will be very outdated. Iq4 will be out by the end of the year or next so wait for that no point of getting iq3 outdated rubbish.

  2. Well this isn’t great at all due to the fact that it has Free to Air tuners to recieve channels which at the moment they aren’t available for satellite customer of Foxtel in South Australia as I am and its annoying not to be able to recieve free to air channels.

  3. There are a lot of conflicting messages coming from Foxtel. Only today Foxtel have stated on their community message boards that it wil be here at the end of this month. Foxtel’s communication is very poor, much the same as it treats its customers and the problems with its current set top boxes.

  4. This is getting beyond a joke. We certainly don’t want a buggy product released (I remember the Topfield PVR issues a few years back) however it shouldn’t take this long to get a product ready. It would seem that Foxtel have made an erroring in partnering with Pace…?

  5. Back in 2012 Foxtel was talking about a late 2013 launch. Watch from 9:00 in this interview from Mediaweek:
