ABC’s Four Corners was a big winner at the Quill Awards last night in Melbourne, Victoria’s journalism awards across several mediums.

Four Corners producer Deb Masters & researcher Mario Christodoulou shared the Gold Quill Award with Fairfax reporter Adele Ferguson for their report on the Commonwealth Bank financial advice scandal.

Seven News‘ Chris Reason was named Journalist of the Year and veteran broadcaster Derryn Hinch won a Lifetime Achievement Award.

“This is a prize that has been awarded to some of Australia’s greatest journalists – men and women I have looked up to my entire career,” Reason said.

“To be standing alongside them is something I never imagined possible.

“It is difficult to celebrate the coverage of a story which had such a tragic outcome, but this is an honour I will treasure for life.”
