Karla Grant returns with Living Black next month in a new timeslot, 5pm Mondays on SBS ONE.

Series 22 continues to look at Indigenous issues and stories that matter to all Australians, beginning with communities affected by Tropical Cyclones Lam and Marcia.

“As we head into our twelfth year on air, I’m looking forward to leading the team into this new era of Living Black, bringing audiences insightful and in-depth coverage of the issues affecting our people on a daily basis, said Grant.

“We’ll be presenting and reporting on the ground, uncovering unique and significant stories from across the country and celebrating Indigenous achievements.”

Australia’s award-winning and longest running Indigenous current affairs show continues its unique video journalism style of storytelling but returns to screens with a fresh new look, investigating contemporary issues of concern to Indigenous Australians, through compelling human stories in a documentary-style format.

Reporting from across Australia, the show will feature a personal journey each week, from prominent public personalities to local faces at the heart of Indigenous communities; it will explore a weekly issue through human eyes – telling fascinating stories with inspiring outcomes.

With Karla Grant, one of Australia’s foremost Indigenous female media personalities at the helm, the Living Black team includes video journalists Ella Archibald-Binge, Hannah Hollis, Laura Murphy-Oates and Ryan Liddle.

To kick off the series, the show visits the Top End and Central Queensland communities that were affected by Tropical Cyclones Lam and Marcia earlier this year. In the following weeks, it will explore a number of issues affecting Indigenous Australians, including the Freedom Rides, health, transgender people and a tribute to Black Diggers.
