ABC consumer affair show The Checkout is back on screens next month.

The show, produced by The Chaser team, is back at 8pm Thursday April 9th for 12 episodes.

Consumers of television programs are advised that the ABC has identified a deficiency of satirical consumer affairs programming in its main channel schedule and taken steps to rectify this matter with high priority.

Accordingly, the producers of The Checkout have been ordered to return to work and produce 12 episodes of the program for the Australian viewing public.

  1. The Checkout has definitely affected our buying habits and we feel that we have saved money due to not getting ripped off (quite so often!). ‘Guilty Mum’ is my favourite segment. How on earth did the human race survive for millennia without all those ‘essential’ and ‘clinically tested’ baby accessories?

  2. Good stuff. Agree, 2 series a year would be good. Hopefully the ABC and the Chaser team are as receptive to tomothyd’s suggestion as Studio 10 was.

  3. Great news, I really like this show. Would be good if they can do two seasons a year, but unlike Today Tonight and ACA, this show needs a lot of journalism and investigation on consumer affairs, as well as much better jokes so they can’t just rush it to air.
