Nominations for the 57th Logie Awards will be announced later today.

TV Week will reveal the names this afternoon at a media event at Crown in Melbourne.

By 5pm all the guessing should be over (TV Tonight will be publishing results, subject to any possible embargo limits).

This differs from last year when the Outstanding Category nominees were revealed separately from the Popular categories.

But there’s no guarantee we will have any clarity on possible host/s and the Hall of Fame inductee today.

You have just a few hours to make any category predictions…

  1. @Nicholas – I totally agree re: Marta Dusseldorp. Let’s hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
Will be interesting to see if APTCH gets any nods giving its axe by 7 and mainly popular with the older demos.
Love Child might get a nod or two as well.
With Stephen Peacock leaving H&A he might get the silver or gold popular Logie.
I’m personally more interested in the outstanding catergories than the popular ones.

  2. I will never understand why after so many years on television and what Daryl Somers has achieved, why he is not already in the “Hall of Fame”. Hey Hey it’s Saturday, Dancing with the Stars, Tonight Shows, Family Feud, Band Stand, Host of Logies I don’t know how many times, the list goes on. Plus a hand full of Gold Logies (when they really meant something) and god how many other Logies is anyones guess. It is almost an embarrassment to TV Week, and those faceless people who select the Hall of Fame recipients,

  3. Marta Dusseldorp for Most Outstanding Actress (Janet King); Asher Keddie for Most Popular Actress (Offspring) and the Gold Logie (as it was the last season); Janet King for Most Outstanding Drama Series; Offspring for Most Popular Drama; Masterchef Australia for Most Outstanding Reality program. I think the logies will honour Asher Keddie for her riveting work on Offspring season 5, as she was shockingly forgotten about at the AACTA Awards. This year, the logies must have a host (must be funny and delightful to watch), less performances, longer Red carpet Special, and start earlier (7:30pm). It’s time to make it feel like an international awards show.

  4. It always astounds me to see the (ahem!) ‘stars’ getting so worked up/excited about nominations. If these people have been successful enough in playing the game to make this list, one would think that they weren’t so naive as to think the award was a personal honour. The reality is that the awards are not given to ‘people’; they are given to media images which these people have become the puppets.
