This Sunday 60 Minutes aims its cameras at the Royal family of Brunei, accusing the Sultan of hypocrisy. Plus Ed Sheeran and an unknown Gallipoli tale.

The Playboy Sultan
With a personal fortune of twenty billion dollars, the Sultan of Brunei is one of the richest men on the planet. Renowned for his love of fast cars and beautiful women, the Sultan has called an end to the party – well, for the rest of the country at least. He’s declared sharia law across Brunei, meaning that adulterers will be stoned to death and thieves will have their hands cut off, but these extreme new laws won’t apply to the royal family. Allison Langdon went undercover in Brunei, and spoke with a member of Sultan’s harem revealing the height of the ruler’s hypocrisy.

Winning the War

Ed Sheeran
He doesn’t look like your typical pop star. Because he isn’t one. At just 24 years of age, Ed Sheeran is packing out arenas. Having recently finished a tour of Australia, armed with just a microphone and his guitar, Sheeran proved so popular that he’s coming back later this year. Teenage girls – and their mothers too – can’t get enough of the red-headed, tattooed Englishman. Peter Stefanovic spent a few days with Ed to find out what the fuss is all about.

The First Wave
This story will change history and force the experts to rewrite the story of Gallipoli. For all that’s been reported about the ANZAC campaign, there’s one rather glaring omission, and it’s about the most significant part of the whole operation: the landing itself. Who were the first Australians ashore? Official accounts say that 1500 infantrymen from the AIF 3rd Brigade made up the first wave. But this Sunday, 60 Minutes will reveal that the first men to set foot on Gallipoli were 150 Australian army engineers, sappers as they’re called, who until now have never been recognised.
