Agents of SHIELD spinoff in the works

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may be getting a spinoff

SHIELD executive producer Jeffrey Bell (Angel, The X-Files) and writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost, Hawaii Five-0) are reportedly developing the project but it is isn’t clear which characters would be involved.

EW reports there won’t be an implanted pilot episode this season directly setting up the spinoff, either however, story elements that are still to come on SHIELD this year will lay the groundwork for the potential new series.

It’s not clear if the series would launch during the Fall season or mid-season (SHIELD itself is not yet officially renewed).

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returned to Seven this week.

Meanwhile Marvel’s Daredevil launched globally yesterday on Netflix.

  1. Hopefully we will get Agent Carter on Netflix.
Has AoS gone to any streaming services yet?
Will be interesting to see what streaming service The Flash ends up on.

  2. I quite like AoS but we’re fast approaching the Super Hero Event Horizon where the whole thing collapses in on itself and nothing else gets made apart from ‘men in tights’.

  3. If anyone jumped off Agent’s of SHIELD (I almost did but glad I didn’t) now is the time to get back on because the show is really hitting its stride now with the Inhumans storyline. It’s going to be interesting to see how Age of Ultron affects the show.

  4. SHIELD has already had one spin-off (Agent Carter) which aired mid season 2 of SHIELD. It’s ratings weren’t great but apparently it was critically appraised yet an Aust air date and network is still TBA (likely depending on whether it gets renewed). But nevertheless I’ll be keen to see both Agent Carter and this upcoming series – anything Marvel has my attention.

  5. Loving Agents of Shield so far this season. An Inhumans spinoff could be good, although those story elements are already in the show and now I can’t wait to see what’s coming next for the show. I also really hope Agent Carter gets a second season.
