On Sunday night SBS screens two docos for viewers who are fascinated by aviation and air crash post-mortems, one from the UK and another from the US.

8:35pm Dateline Presents: Are Our Planes Safe?
The recent crash of the Germanwings A320 Airbus is a terrible human tragedy, and one which is adding to the great concern about the current and future safety of flying. This Doc from ITN Productions for Channel 4’s Dispatches programme focuses on the young co-pilot Andreas Lubiz, who is believed to have locked his Captain out of the cockpit and deliberately and calmly crashed his Airbus 320 aircraft into the French Alps, killing himself and all 150 passengers on board. This film will examine the background to this extraordinary aviation tragedy, the events which led up to it, the rescue and recovery effort and the larger safety implications travel.
