Alexander’s star lands on Days of our Lives

Sydney actor Alexander Bruszt will play an Aussie doctor on the US soap after winning a talent search contest.

Sydney actor Alexander Bruszt (pictured, left) has won the ‘Search for a Star’ contest for Days of our Lives, landing a role on the long-running US soap.

He won the role ahead of other finalists Andrew Steel and Tom Dalzell.

The prize, offered jointly by Arena, Corday Productions Inc. and Sony Pictures Television, is a 13 week contract to play the role of Fynn, a handsome, rugged Australian doctor in Salem to do his residency, under the supervision of Doctor Jonas (Shawn Christian).

Bruszt joining an agency at 16 and ending up on the set of Home and Away a week later. His other television credits include co-hosting Super Simpsons Live on FOX8 and hosting Foxtel’s RA surf show. Short film credits include Overdrawn, The Brother, Room With View, a supporting role in Little Black Dress plus over 100 commercials.

“This has been the most amazing time for me. I could have only dreamed of a role like this and I am looking forward to this opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented cast and crew on such an internationally respected daytime drama,” he said.

Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng said, “After seeing the amazing range of talented submissions we received from Australia, we’re thrilled to welcome Alexander Bruszt to our Days family. We can’t wait for fans to see what kind of trouble he’ll be stirring up in Salem.”

Bruszt will hit screens in Australia in November culminating during the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Days of our Lives airs Express from the US at 12.50pm weekdays on Arena, with a weekly DOOL omnibus catch up on Sundays from 7-11.30am.
