Dark Matter coming to Syfy in June

In this upcoming sci-fi, the crew of a derelict spaceship are awakened with no memories of who they are.

Upcoming US drama Dark Matter will be fast-tracked on Syfy following the US premiere on June 12, 2015.

The 13 part series is created by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, based on their graphic comics of the same name, and follows the crew of a derelict spaceship who are awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets.

The cast will include Melissa O’Neil (Les Miserables), Marc Bendavid (Bitten), Anthony Lemke (White House Down), Alex Mallari Jr. (Robocop) and Jodelle Ferland (Twilight) with Roger Cross (The Strain) and Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl).

“We are pleased to be making Dark Matter a global Syfy experience, expressed to air shortly after the US debut this summer,” said Steve Patscheck, Executive Vice President, Programming, Universal Networks International. “Wherever possible we aim to bring our viewers new content at the same time as it premieres in the US, ensuring that Syfy viewers around the world can share a global experience.”

Dark Matter is produced by Prodigy Pictures with executive producers as Jay Firestone, Joseph Mallozzi, Paul Mullie and Vanessa Piazza. It is distributed internationally by Endemol Shine International.

  1. I did read about this a little while ago and thought the idea sounded interesting. I just hope it get’s a decent budget and they can put out a quality program each week.
