HBO’s new streaming service to US residents launches in a few days, but won’t be available to Australian residents.
The streaming service is not sold directly to consumers but comes via Apple or broadband suppliers.
In Australia Foxtel remains the exclusive home of HBO content for titles such as Game of Thrones, Veep and Girls.

I know people who have their Apple TV in Australia but signed up to an American account via certain ways. I assume they would see HBO now as a icon and have the ability to get HBO now?
Your assumption is correct. One would also need a DNS or equivalent service to get around the ridiculous geoblocking too.
I had read HBO were keen to expand into other territories asap. Australia would make sense as a target.
Did the Foxtel agreement exclude this I wonder?
Amazing and if you try to get it with the Fourth channel you could get caught so why do you think people do it…..?
