Nigella Lawson is returning to television for first time in 2 years following a drug scandal and split from husband Charles Saatchi.

She will front a new BBC2 show called Simply Nigella, in which she prepares feel-good food designed to make viewers feel “less stressed”.

“It’s about food that makes our life easier, that makes us feel better, more alive and less stressed,” she said.

In 2013 pictures emerged of the throat-grabbing incident outside a London restaurant when Saatchi, 71, later claimed he was examining her for cocaine use.

The revelation came during the trial of her former personal assistants for credit card fraud – the Grillo sisters were later cleared of spending $A1.3m on themselves without authorisation.

After admitting in 2013 that she had used cocaine precisely seven times, Nigella added: “I am not proud of the fact that I have taken drugs but that does not make me a drug addict or a habitual drug user.

“I would rather be honest and ashamed – not bullied with lies.”

  1. Domestic violence against any human being is unacceptable.

But she said she’s not a drug addict nor a habitual drug user just because she took drugs several times. So what is it then?

    1. Habitual is regularly; needing to plan or allow for it within your income budget, having a regular dealer or connection with one. If you have used a drug say 7 times but not again, you are not an addict. But only she knows the truth. Most addictive personalities will switch from one thing to another. Elton John for example had a real problem with shopping. Luckily he is very rich because he was spending hundreds of thousands a month on clothes and jewellery etc and although he still shops, I believe he sought treatment for the excess.

  2. Why would you believe anything Saatchi said? The video speaks for itself and his lies, exposing her drug use and dragging her through a pointless trial to embarrass her because she was a celebrity was petty.
