Season Three of Mr. Selfridge begins next week on Seven following Thursday’s Downton Abbey.

Season Three jumps forward to 1919 with new cast members Zoë Wanamaker and Kelly Adams.

A fourth series has also been confirmed, but there is speculation it could be the last.

The third instalment in the fascinating rise and fall of this colourful but troubled man picks up in 1919 just after the end of World War I. London is a darker city haunted by the spectre of war. As the nation tries to rebuild itself and put the horrors of conflict behind them, demobbed soldiers return to find women have stepped into their jobs. Those who’ve survived struggle to learn how to live normal lives again. Those who’ve lost have to try and move on. Zoë Wanamaker (Harry Potter films, Agatha Christie: Poirot) joins the cast to play a trouble-making Russian princess, while Kelly Adams (Holby City) plays Harry’s new love interest, Nancy Webb.

Thursday, May 7 at 10.15pm on Seven.

    1. It’s sad to know he wound up squandering his fortune and then of course sold the store. One of my favourite anecdotes is that he grabbed the number ‘1’ as the Selfridge phone number. He clearly was ahead of his time when he first opened the store.

  1. I have really enjoyed this series. The Paradise was also very good with the exception of the portrayal of key character Moray in the second series. It really didn’t give much of a direction for a renewal. But Selfridge has gone through a redemption phase and series 2 leaves off at his wife’s life threatening illness and women having taken over many male roles in the business. I’m keen to see where the plot travels now and I also really like Zoe Wanamaker. She was great in sitcom “My Family” which has some side splitting moments.
