UK singer Sam Smith has cancelled the remainder of his Australian tour including his appearance at the Logie Awards this Sunday, on doctors order.
“I am deeply, deeply saddened to tell my Australian fans, I have to cancel my Australian tour,” Smith said in a statement.
“I have been vocally exhausted for a while now however last night in Sydney I had a small haemorrhage on my vocal chords.
“The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal chords have healed, otherwise this could become a huge long-term issue. I am so sorry to all who have bought tickets, I truly am.
“This kills me.”
Following cancellation of Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth dates, Frontier Touring is discussing a possible December tour.
Smith was due to perform at the Logies for not one but two performances, as one of three international acts including Ricky Martin and Meghan Trainor.

Sorry, What? Conchita Wurst will be there but not performing? That is insane … I always assumed she would perform! Extremely disappointed!
i was really looking froward to his performance. David do you know if the organisers will be getting a replacement or will they keep it as Ricky Martin and Meghan Trainor. I remember 1 year they got KD Lang as a replacement for Susan Boyle and KD Lang sang Hallelujah

Anastasia and Charlie XCX were performing on the commercial breakfast shows. I think Spandau Ballet will be in town soon. Not sure of any of their actual schedules. Is Conchita really not performing? Can Guy do his Eurovision entry?
I’d love to see Tim Campbell and Anthony Callea perform. Maybe Anthony Callea can sing his hit The Prayer. The Justice Crew or Sheppard would be good.
Well sad for him, . But really, Meghan Trainor will be there and she will slay, so therefore he won’t be missed, . Believe me.

Oh no! It was meant to be a Big Show for him but unfortunately it will be a quiet one. 🙁
