SBS to air Amazon crime series, Bosch.

SBS to air crime series about an LAPD homicide detective, which broke Amazon streaming records.

Bosch-cropped1SBS has purchased seasons one and two of Amazon’s crime series Bosch, starring Titus Welliver (Lost) as an LAPD homicide detective whose dedication to duty often conflicts with his personal and professional life.

SBS ONE will air 10 part series from July, based on the successful books by Michael Connelly.

Speaking about the Australian deal, Marshall Heald, director of television and online content for SBS, said: “The story of LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch has captivated millions of readers for years and Bosch the series brings the same grit and intrigue fans of author Michael Connelly’s best-selling franchise expect and new audiences will be gripped by.

Bosch is the perfect addition to SBS’s slate of premium drama and enhances our commitment to delivering the world’s best drama to Australian audiences.”

Amazon renewed the series one month after the biggest ever debut weekend for the streaming service. During its first four weeks, it was the most-watched show on Amazon, including all movies and television.

  1. Is this pretty much an indication that Amazon won’t be bringing their streaming service to Aus anytime soon?
Titus is one of those actors who turns up in a lot of things – it’s nice that he’s got his own show now.

  2. I’ve seen the first season and it’s very good it has been one of the best new shows of the year(so far) although I could be a little biased as I’m a massive fan of the books.

  3. I’ve seen Welliver in a few things other than Lost, notably Deadwood and Sons of Anarchy, and liked what I saw. Appearing in The Last Ship prob counts against him but I’ll be giving this a look.
