Seven still dominant in ratings battle

Ratings: The ANZAC week was big in news and reality, with Seven retaining pole position.

Another week of ratings, another win for Seven.

Last week My Kitchen Rules began to lift once more as it closes in on its grand final, but so too did The Block, which has its auction on Wednesday night. The ANZAC week was also a big week for News due to the Sydney storm.

ABC’s ANZAC Day Gallipoli Dawn Service averaged 663,000 viewers -a strong figure for Saturday arvo.

My Kitchen Rules led the week as usual with up to 1.52m viewers on Wednesday. Seven News was 1.46m on Sunday, The Water Diviner movie was 848,000 which after Timeshifting could become the biggest film of the year, followed by Criminal Minds on 846,000.

The Block (Room Reveal: 1.29m / Sun: 1.18m) topped the week on Nine then Nine News (Sun: 1.28m), 60 Minutes (1.17m) and A Current Affair (935,000).

ABC News (Sun: 895,000), Australian Story (813,000) and Four Corners (769,000) were best for ABC.

NCIS (611,000) topped TEN then Modern Family (up to 609,000) and TEN Eyewitness News (606,000).

On SBS one it was Poh and Co. (389,000), Planes that Changed the World (326,000) and Patisserie with Michel Roux. Jr (320,000).

Seven won every night of the week, but tied with Nine for Thursday. ABC defeated TEN on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and tied with TEN on Sunday.

Seven took 4 cities, while Nine retained Sydney.

  1. I don’t know how anyone can watch Sunrise. It’s like watching a bunch of over-grown teens who are incapable of paying due respect to any occasion. By contrast, the Today show’s coverage of Anzac Day activities was far classier and appropriately referential.

  2. Noticed that The Water Diviner was on PPV on Foxtel

    Anyone who purchased that viewing is surely kicking themselves (in-before a comment about HD)
