  1. So Seven pipped Nine by 0.4% in all channels, which is in a big part thanks to the multi-channels with Inspector Morse, Baggage Battles, Pie In The Sky and Hardcore Pawn considering House Rules was low and Nine beat Seven News (even though Big Bang Theory did well for Nine on GO!), wonder if that will make them have a rethink about simulcasting House Rules.

    • I suspect Seven viewers who did not want renovation on 7TWO and 7mate largely went over to Masterchef. A big risk to give TEN your multichannel audience, especially if they liked what they saw.

      • You could be right David, I also noticed yesterday that on GEM Poirot lifted by 59,000 and Agatha Christie’s Marple got 200,000 and came in at number 4, while the week before it wasn’t in the top 20 (number 20 last week was165,000 so it have lifted by the same amount).

What the Multi-Channels are doing is really starting to interest me, will be keen to see how the combination of Gotham and Arrow fair on GO! on May 17th as well.

  2. Well done to Struggle Street rating so great. Kudos to the other networks for promoting the show. Even if it was to “destroy the show”.

They may want to rethink about bagging out the other networks in the future 😉

  3. This should be SBS’s highest ratings so far this year. I reckon that this should go up higher next week to 1 million viewers.

  4. Masterchef still over 1 million on show 2 is better than last year I am sure from memory.
Ten is no 1 in all 3 important demographics that will provide a rise in much needed income for them.
Seven is the big loser – dont understand their thinking.
Nine won’t be happy with their recycled Block overkill either. Nine can get away with it bit for how much longer.
The Ad agencies will be watching closely where they will place their money in future. Ten missed out big for 3 to 4 years and I am glad they are well on the way to a recovery 🙂

  5. spectrum warrior

Well done SBS. Not only was your marketing spot on, but you recorded what parts of Australia are really like. This what SBS should be doing. Australia can only fix problems in society until we are all made aware of what’s going on.

  6. That’s remarkable ratings for Struggle Street, especially in Sydney in being no 1 watched show by a margin. Helped by the publicity on the news sites/bulletins yesterday. Make me wonder why tv networks did stories on it when networks themselves are struggling hold people attentionsi prime-time?

  7. Lol @ HR! Last nights ep was such a bore! Too much talking not enough renovating. Turned into The Block ew I’ll just tune in for the reveals now.

  8. SBS would like to thank Blacktown Council for all of that free publicity, making Struggle Street #1 show in Sydney last night, 127K more than Nine Sydney News. Don’t know what the carry-on was all about. It is as it is. The foul language wasn’t dubbed into the mouths of the females, was it?
Looks like House Rules has bombed.
