ABC’s coverage of the 2015 Federal Budget from next Tuesday will span two channels and shows including ABC News, Lateline, ABC News Breakfast, National Press Club Address and 7:30 –which even airs at 8:00 on one night.

This features the first interviews with Treasurer Joe Hockey and Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen.

ABC News Budget 2015 Special

Leigh Sales hosts the ABC News Budget 2015 special, live from Parliament House in Canberra, on ABC and ABC News 24.

She says: “Budget night is one of the most important events on the political calendar. This is my 8th federal budget and I’m as excited as ever to see what the government has in store.”
At 7.30pm AEST, the Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey will deliver the 2015 Federal Budget speech from the House of Representatives.

Following the speech, Leigh’s guests will include Mr Hockey and Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen, and there will be analysis and commentary from the ABC’s Political Editor Chris Uhlmann, Barrie Cassidy, Annabel Crabb, Alan Kohler, Greg Jennett, Sabra Lane, Ian Verrender and journalist and author George Megalogenis.

Leigh will also be joined by economist Chris Richardson, Cassandra Goldie from the Australian Council of Social Services and Jennifer Westacott, Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia.

The ABC News Digital team will examine the impact of the budget on all Australians with a special interactive explanation of the “Winners and Losers”.

Chris Uhlmann continues hosting the ABC News Budget 2015 coverage on ABC News 24 from 9pm AEST. This special extended coverage will include interviews with Greens Leader Richard Di Natale and key cross-benchers. There will be a full recap of the budget’s key points, as well as analysis and commentary from ABC journalists including Barrie Cassidy and Ticky Fullerton and guest panellists.
**Note there will be no edition of Lateline at 9.30pm AEST on ABC News 24.
