ABC titles dominated the Television winners at the Australian Directors Guild Awards last night, with wins including The Code, Please Like Me, Nowhere Boys and Changing Minds.

Chris Taylor hosted the awards, held for the first time in Melbourne at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collin.

Presenters included Robert Connolly, Nadine Garner, Sigrid Thornton, Denise Roberts and in special recognition of Neighbours 30th Anniversary, stars Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Ariel Kaplan and Harley Bonner.

All 87 directors who have worked on the TEN soap were mentioned in an impressive roll call of names, acknowledging the show’s contribution to the industry and their creative input.

But it was a string of ABC titles that walked away with the television awards, as well as other wins to SBS, Foxtel and Seven productions.

Acclaimed Director Paul Cox announced the Feature Film award, given to The Babadook‘s Jennifer Kent whilst Craig Monahan, awarded the ADG/DGA Finders Award for his film Healing, paid tribute to the late cinematographer Andrew Lesnie.
