  1. It’s official. Australia has gone insane. Ita Buttrose, Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), Officer of the Order of Australia (AO), Centenary Medal winner, patron of Women of Vision, World Vision Australia, The University of Third Age, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Australia, Amarant, the National Menopause Foundation, the Sydney Women’s Festival, Safety House and the National Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, ambassador of the Australian Women Chamber of Commerce (AWCCI) and member of the AWCCI Advisory Board, to Radio and President of Alzheimer’s Australia, not to mention the face of the massively influential anti-aides campaign is to be castigated and put down for not wearing a beanie, while so many other, do-nothing people are congratulated and celebrated for their ‘support’ and for helping to ‘raise awareness’. Okay, so that you’ve supported…

  2. Well I think its great. I didnt know those horrible statistics about brain cancer and Carrie was a gracious winner and as she said, instead of repeating herself and thanking everyone again that she previously did, use her time to raise awareness about a horrible disease that took her husband and a young boy his dad.

Today its what people were talking about and its great other shows jumped on board.

  3. I’m going to have to give ITA the benefit of the doubt. While I can’t see her as a beanie wearer she always seems willing to support good causes. Having said that the excuse “we didn’t have enough beanies” sounds a bit suspicious to me, surely it wouldn’t have taken much to figure out “Oh Weve got five panelists, we need five beanies”. Would’ve been a better option to leave Libbi Gorr without one.

  4. Oh geeze people…stop nit picking…just so you can see your name in a post…
    Like it…dont like….wear a beanie…dont wear a beanie….your choice.
Bless all those who decided to support Carrie’s call for awaremess, that is all it was.

    1. “Just so you can see…” is an assumption. “your choice” is exactly right. People can post as they like unless David elects not to publish. Most media topics these days receive the full spectrum of commentary opinion.

  5. Fantastic to see so much support. Even people who didn’t watch the Logies will now be aware of the campaign that Carrie kicked off last night.

      1. One photo does not represent an entire broadcast but that one photo does not come across well to viewers. I read an article on Daily Mail about her not wearing a beannie. Apparently they don’t have enough beanies. I suppose giving her the ‘benefit of the doubt’ comes into your mind.

        1. I am wondering if she will appear again soon wearing the crowned version of all beanies. 🙂 If I were her, I would have drawn upon that great ole story “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. In fact several on the red carpet showed they had read part way through that tale.

        2. Just to be fair to Ita after my posting, I came across a photo in a News.com article of her in a beanie with Jessica Rowe at the Logies. So maybe we (or I) have overreacted.
And to @Maev..Sydney – I am not posting this to see my name on this forum 🙂

  6. Which charity is this campaign supporting? Where are we all donating money to? Without an actual call to action of a donation, this is just another piece of slacktivism.

    1. Not every campaign has to be to support a charity. Sometimes showing solidarity is just as important. The #illridewithyou campaign is an excellent example of this.

    2. I thought the exact opposite to you! I thought it’s nice not being asked to donate money – which is often difficult for a lot of people – but to do something so simple to raise awareness. Think Movember and the HIV red ribbon.
