Political commentator Peter van Onselen moves from evenings to daytime as part of a line-up revamp.

SKY News will launch a new daytime and evening line-up from 1 June, increasing its political news coverage.

Political commentator Peter van Onselen, who currently presents PVO NewsHour from 7-8pm Mondays to Thursdays will move to 12:00pm – 4:00pm on PVO NewsDay.

On Twitter he said, “I wanted to start spending evenings with my kids as they grow up & Sky kindly obliged with the new role. Nothing changes with The Aust.”

A new political program To the Point, featuring former NSW Premier Kristina Keneally will also air at lunchtime.

A two hour program, Reporting Live with Stan Grant will air Monday – Thursdays from 6:00pm.

  1. Sound bites of news are ubiquitous on everybody’s phones and tablets these days Op-ed is something you can create in your own time, and own that can’t just be rereported in 140 characters of misinformation.

  2. 4 hours of opinion in the daytime 12pm-4pm.

    Obviously reacting to what rates well on Sky.

    Not 30 minute news wheels – but opinion and talking heads.
