US comedy performer, mother of Ben Stiller and who appeared in Rhoda and Sex and the City, has died.

Veteran US comedy performer Anne Meara, mother of Ben Stiller and who appeared in such shows as Rhoda and Sex and the City, has died, aged 85.
Her husband, former Seinfeld star Jerry Stiller, and son did not release any other details in their statement to media.
Meara was one half of the comedy team Stiller & Meara, partners in career and in life for some 60 years “I didn’t know where the act ended and our marriage began,” she once said.
Meara, also mother to actress Amy Stiller, married Jerry Stiller in 1954, after meeting in a production by the Shakespeare Company in Central Park.
They performed on The Ed Sullivan Show, touring and recording until 1970.
Film credits included The Out of Towners, Nasty Habits, The Boys From Brazil, Fame, Awakenings, Reality Bites, and Night at the Museum.
TV credits included Kate McShane, Alf, Archie Bunker’s Place, Rhoda, All My Children, Oz, Law and Order: SVU, Will and Grace, All My Children, Highway to Hell, Murder She Wrote, Saturday Night Live, The Love Boat, Murphy Brown, In the Heat of the Night, Sex and the City and The King of Queens.
She also performed on Broadway winning Tony Award nominations and was nominated for four Emmys.

She also had small roles in the Princess Diaries and Princess Diaries 2. Vale.
What is The Move Boat? I presume you mean Love Boat. Loved her in Rhoda.
I remember her mostly from ALF, but never new that she was married to Jerry Stiller, or was Ben’s mother.
An especially great comedic actress. What a pair they were:Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara!
Anne had one of those unmistakable faces and voices. She will be greatly missed.
