1.29m tune in for Married at First Sight finale

Ratings: Nine's reality series pulls its best figures of the season, but ABC finds itself in a Q&A controversy.

Nine dominated Monday with its reality combo, Married at First Sight and Reno Rumble finales.

Married at First Sight finished with its best figures of the season at 1.29m viewers while Nine’s renovation series pulled 1.22m for the Winner Announced in preliminary figures.

But TEN’s MasterChef eclipsed the bulk of the show at 1.14m viewers.

ABC found itself in Q & A controversy after a former terrorism suspect addressed the panel, while the last ever Revenge pulled 651,000 for Seven.

Nine network won the night with 31.3% then Seven 23.95, TEN 20.3%, ABC 19.2% and SBS 5.3%.

Next for Nine was Nine News (1.24m / 1.19m), Reno Rumble (Winner Announced: 1.22m / Grand Final: 982,000) and Hot Seat (676,000). Footy Classified was 278,000 in 3 cities.

Seven News (1.17m / 1.01m) was best for Seven then House Rules (860,000), Home and Away (763,000), Revenge (651,000) and Million Dollar Minute (550,000). Dynamo: Magician Impossible was 300,000.

MasterChef Australia (1.14m) led for TEN. The Project was 678,000 / 496,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 629,000, Have You Been Paying Attention? was 613,000 and an Anchorman movie was 195,000.

ABC News (964,000) topped ABC followed by 7:30 (777,000), Australian Story (737,000), Four Corners (649,000), Media Watch (625,000) and Q & A (560,000).

On SBS ONE it was Pain Pus and Poison (250,000), The Truth about Exercise (248,000), SBS World News (160,000) and Death Row (151,000).

ABC2’s Peter Rabbit hopped to the top of multichannels with 241,000.

  1. I was disappointed by the Revenge finale. Then again, it should have wrapped after season 3.

    Well done to Seven who made it a successful show in Australia through consistent scheduling and promotion. If only they’d do that with other dramas.

    1. I don’t watch Revenge, but I agree that it’s the first example in years of a channel just being consistent and advertising correctly to support a Drama.

    2. I haven’t seen the final ep yet, but I agree. Channel 7 advertised this show excellently and, up until this year where they burnt off the last season, really gave the show a great amount of respect keeping it in the same timeslot and advertising it constantly. It was such an enjoyable show for the first season, but then the cracks showed in Season 2 and never really went away. It ended up a shadow of its former self. Hopefully Emily VanCamp goes on to better things she was brilliant in it as was Madeleine Stowe.
