New and returning comedies join ABC’s Wednesday line-up this week.

UK comedy Would I Lie To You? is back at 9:30pm with guests Jo Brand, Roisin Conaty, Paul Foot, and Ray Mears.

At 10pm Wil Anderson presents the first of 3 specials showcasing upcoming sketch comedy, The Best of Fresh Blood with new work that has featured on iview

Making their television debut on ABC, these episodes were created as part of the Freshblood initiative between the ABC and Screen Australian and were shown on ABC iview mid last year. The initiative was created to help kick start the careers of young writers, directors and performers.

In total, 24 comedy teams were given the green light and a budget to make a series of sketches. The result is 73 of the most outrageous, provocative and piss-funny sketches you’ll ever see.
These three half hour episodes showcase the pick of the bunch.

During this first episode, hear the embarrassingly honest thoughts that people think when they end up in bed together. Plus see what happens when a camera crew arrives at the wrong house to film a documentary on weird addictions. An Adelaide couple try to get into the record books with the longest ever kiss, and Donna is commissioned to deliver a song to a groom on his wedding day. It’s a devastating message from the bride.

  1. Would I lie is repeated daily on UKTV . It’s like UKTV’s Two and a half men. Thankfully it’s being replaced next month with 8 out of 10 cats and there are 180 eps of that
