FremantleMedia Australia is reportedly making an observational series on Qantas for Nine.
News Corp reports casting has begun for the series due to shoot over four months and air later this year.
A Qantas spokeswoman confirmed the production “will feature Qantas staff sharing their day-to-day stories as they go about their various roles, from deep in the heart of the operations centre to our airport and ground handling teams, as well as our crews in the air” and “highlight the everyday complexities of a global airline operation and the challenges associated with flying more than 70,000 passengers every day to over 80 destinations around the world and across Australia.”
It is expected to include celebrity arrivals, airport reunions and emergencies, only limited by security restrictions.
Networks have previously aired similar ob-doc shows including Airport, Airline and Airways, the latter featuring Tiger on Seven Network.
If the mix of camera crews and airlines goes well, might it be time to revive Skyways? We haven’t had a drama around an airline for a while….

Umm, Pan Am?
Umm in Australia?
ps. If I recall correctly that didn’t even screen here.
I thought Ten showed it – but canned it after only a couple of episodes?
No. Nine owned it but it never screened.
Who remembers the British television show Mile High?
A randy series it was.
