  1. If Life on the Dole was a local production instead of a cheap UK import I might have checked it out, it belongs on GO! or GEM and not on the main channel in the evenings.

I chose to watch The Weekly on ABC last night, so much better than the endless reality crap on the commercial channels.

  2. If TEN continue their fresh approach to new and interesting content, they will over-take Nine by this time next year in overall percentage share. I’d like to see that happen.

  3. I can’t believe Life On the Dole is still on the main channel. This show reminds me of Embarrassing Bodies and Nine moved that to GEM years ago.

  4. I’m loving Life on the Dole (the show that is)! While some of the pain is self-inflicted, there are bigger issues here – such as the loss of industries that once guaranteed people a job for life. And that is relevant to Australia.

  5. The 5 30 Slot on Seven is filled perfect with Million Dollar Minute the show is much better than Hot Seat they should leave the show where it is if there is a show that should be removed it’s ancient reruns of Deal Or No Deal which was hosted by the irritating man Andrew O Keefe

  6. The photo provides an accurate impression of the type of characters that feature in Life on the Dole, my dear wife insisted on watching some of it last night. It was an almost unbearable experience…….

    1. Yes, life on the dole is an unbearable experience for the 20% of school leavers in your neighbourhood who are unemployed. Many spend years looking for work.

  7. The Project is great at the moment. Waleed Ali has been such a great addition. The new set looks fantastic and of course, Carrie back this week is a huge plus.

    1. I agree with most of your points, craig, other than i think although the set looks fresh it seems to have moved the hosts a little further from each other – the first thing i noticed, and that it has lost a little of the intimacy it had. Although perhaps moving Steve Price a little further to the right…….

  8. Think channel 7 news is far superior to nine news but as you say David seven needs to do something about the lead in at 5.30 to give it the ratings it deserves.

  9. Why on earth would we in Australia be the slightest interested in life on the dole in Britain? We’ve got plenty of our own problems to be depressed about without importing British misery. Typical 9 crappy programming.

  10. One could assume that Channel 7 may be starting to worry about the decline of Home and Away’s numbers in comparison to The Project -7pm. Any thoughts David?

      1. I disagree re lead in. People can easily change channels.
I dumped 7 news after more than 20 years loyal viewing when they dumped David Brown, and went 60 mins.
Also sandy leaving left a void.
They should go back to 30 mins of quality news, not fillers. I’ll stick with abc or sky for now.

  11. Elementary’s numbers are no better on Wednesdays than when it was on Monday. Ten may as well keep it where it is but it does not set the world on fire no matter what day they show it.
