Today we look at Nine’s Multichannels GO! and GEM.
Youth channel GO! is the leading multichannel in Total People this year, with titles such as The Last Ship, Thunderbirds Are Go, Arrow, Gotham, Survivor and Kids WB. Last year the brand identity was Comedy & Movies, but it has expanded on those genres this year.
Meanwhile GEM, aimed at Women over 35, has built on its library of Classic Drama with Midsomer Murders, Agatha Christies Poirot and New Tricks but also features select HD Sport.
Here are the answers supplied by Nine.

Go!, needs to redesihn it’s logo, that wonky exclamtion mark is ugly. Either that or make their water mark smaller.
GEM lets itself down with the crappy prints of many of the old movies. I like the old films, but some of the prints are unwatchable.
Agreed. Not only faded, but so many are shown in the old 4:3 pan & scan format. Total waste of an HD channel. Movies in HD and correct aspect ratio please!
GO! Used to screen the U.S version of The Bachelor, seems to have dropped that now?
GEM is by far the best HD quality on FTA very pristine picture
With the ICC2015 coming up next month, I believe that Nine Perth will have this Soccer Matches Live and Free. There will be three sports happening simultaneously on 17/7 and 20/7. David, I was wondering if Nine Perth will screen every soccer matches Live?
Kids WB have been a major disappointment this year, it is mid year and they have failed to show any new cartoon seasons/series from Cartoon Network / Warner Bros at all. The only new content, is a few Australian co-productions (Heidi, Skinner Boys).
Just saw Pete’s comment about Last Ship in the TV Lounge – nice work Go!
Now just to get Originals back on air.
Has GEM even aired Rizzoli & Isles Season 5 yet?
Nice to see iZombie’s on the slate, though I fear an Originals shafting…
And is there any start for the 2nd season of Last Ship yet, or is it going to be “coming soon” for 2-3 months before it airs like most Go! shows of late?
I haven’t seen any new R&I on Gem since they started counter programming early in the week, targeting >60s with old murder mysteries.
Nine have returned to showing first run drama on their secondary channels, largely because they have so much WB content that doesn’t rate well enough for Nine anymore.
I want to check out Constantine and iZombie. Hopefully the listing of Longmire means they still have the rights to the Netflix seasons. They will also have new eps of Almost Human on Go!, once they have finished repeating the first 6 eps that aired on Nine.
I’m also enjoying Arrow in a regular slot (and Gotham fans presumably too).
So does this mean GO will start airing the middle again? Cause they stopped like 2 seasons ago, one of the best comedy’s in the last 10 years really hope they do, glad to hear GO say last ship did well, it’s a great show
I still can’t fathom why GEM is aimed at women but has HD sport?? Really weird when most sport is on their primary channel? I’m not saying women don’t like sport but it’s a weird combination in my opinion. 7mate and ONE are more male driven channels and from memory broadcast sport at times.
Sometimes GEM broadcast sporting matches particularly with fans wanting to watch NRL and Cricket.
