Queen’s Birthday Honours 2015

Simon Burke, Susie Elelman, John Foreman & Denis Walter amongst those recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours.

Performers, broadcasters and writers were amongst the Queens Birthday Honours for 2015, announced yesterday.

They include Devil’s Playground star Simon Burke, musical director John Foreman, presenter Susie Elelman, Mavis Bramston writer Ken Shadie and singer / broadcaster Denis Walter.

Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia:
Simon Burke
For distinguished service to the performing arts as an actor, singer and producer, and through senior advocacy roles for performers’ rights and access to professional development and education programs.

William Coleman
For distinguished service to the print media industry as a noted editor, journalist, biographer and author, to the Parliaments of Australia and New South Wales, and to the community.

Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia:
Susie Elelman
For significant service to the not-for-profit sector through major fundraising roles with a range of organisations, and to the broadcast media industry.

John Foreman
For service to the performing arts, particularly as a musicial event director and musician.

Patrick Lindsay
For significant service to the media as a television presenter and journalist, to international relations, and to literature as an author.

Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division:
Rod Quantock
For service to the performing arts, and to conservation and sustainability.

Jane Reilly
For service to the broadcast media, and to charitable groups.

Ken Shadie
For service to the film and television industries as a writer, and to veterans.

Denis Walter
For service to the performing arts as a singer and entertainer, and to the broadcast media.
