Returning: Inspector George Gently

Inspector George Gently returns later this month, investigating murder and corruption in the 1960s with his trusted partner, DS Bacchus.

Season 7 begins 8:30pm Sunday June 28th on ABC.

As he spars in the boxing ring, Gently (Martin Shaw), doesn’t see a punch coming and ends up in hospital, where he reluctantly undergoes tests.

Meanwhile, Rachel (Lisa McGrillis) and DS Bacchus (Lee Ingleby) are staking out a local brothel, and Rachel is shocked when Bacchus lets an Inspector, Walter Nunn (Derek Riddell), go.

Back at the station, Tina (Emily Woof), a prostitute, who says she’s been raped, is being interviewed and belittled by three male cops. Gently arrives just in time to see how she’s treated and is not happy.
