Tom Ballard to host Q & A gay panel

Tom Ballard will host next week’s Q & A special discussing gay issues following the documentary
Between a Frock and a Hard Place (Thursday June 18 at 8.30pm).

While the doco details the making of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and its ripple effect it also highlights changes in social attitudes and laws around homosexuality, masculinity and gender over the last 40 years.

Joining the panel are:

Gay rights activist and author Dennis Altman,
Entertainer Paul Capsis,
Broadcaster and journalist Julie McCrossin,
President, Christian Democratic Party Rev. Fred Nile,
Transgender woman Julia Doulman,
Student and queer activist, Katherine Hudson.

9:30pm Thursday June 18 on ABC.

Dirty Laundry Live will air at 10:30pm.

  1. I think its very bias and very pro gay marriage propaganda not to have balance if this program was set out to debate this issue. Maybe they’ve got more audience members against gay marriage and other gay related issues that may bring in a balance.

  2. A gay host, two gay panellists, two lesbian panellists, one transgender and Fred Nile?

    Don’t know the political leanings of the host and the panellists – but unless there is at least two more rightwing conservatives on the panel – Nile and the LNP supporters will be screaming bias for sure.

    1. Agreed! As someone who fully support same sex marriage, even I think this seems incredibly unbalanced. And the one person they’ve got on the panel who is against it, is a complete loony.
