Ben Roberts-Smith appointed GM of Seven Queensland

In one of the more rapid rises in media executive roles, former member of the elite Special Air Services Ben Roberts-Smith has been appointed General Manager of Seven Queensland, following the retirement of Neil Mooney.

Roberts-Smith was appointed Deputy GM in April after he conducted leadership seminars for the station.

Seven first aligned with Roberts-Smith in 2012 in a Sunday Night interview. He began filing reports for the show in 2013, and presented Power of Ten specials earlier this year.

“I wish to acknowledge Neil’s tremendous contribution to our businesses across news and public affairs and television management. He hands over Seven Queensland in terrific shape as the market-leading television network across the fast-growing regional Queensland markets.”

He is is currently studying towards a Masters of Business Administration at the University of Queensland and has
an Advanced Diploma in Management and a graduate Certificate of Business.
