Tonight on Inside Story, profiles Professor Gordian Fulde from Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital.
Professor Gordian Fulde is the doctor they call when disaster strikes. The man who wrote the manual on emergency medicine has been head of ER at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital since the early 80s.
He works just a stone’s throw from Australia’s sin capital, Kings Cross, and he’s seen it all: the freaks, the junkies, the drunken brawlers. But it was the senseless deaths of two innocent young men in one-punch attacks that really took its toll on Professor Fulde.
So much so that after more than 30 years of working in this urban warzone, he set about helping clean up the Cross putting an end to the alcohol-fuelled violence.
