On again, off again US drama is out once again. Update: Or is it?

On again, off again US drama The Blacklist is out once again.

Out from Seven’s schedule last night with the extended House Rules final, it was due to resume next week.

But now it has been replaced with Ramsay’s Hotel Hell at 8:30pm and a repeat movie The Fast & The Furious at 9:30pm.

That’s two recent hit US shows, including How to Get Away with Murder, that have launched well and dropped after Seven held off episodes.

Update: Cannot keep up with these changes…. Blacklist is back in again Monday July 27. I need a holiday!

  1. For those who still watch TBL on 7, “rumour” has it that it returns and a double bunger on Mon 27JUL15 at 2130 with The Kenyon Family and The Deer Hunter and T. Earl King Vi at 2040 Monday 03AUG15. Whether or not it comes to fruition ho cares, the DVD will be here soon enough.

  2. I don’t watch The Blacklist myself but think that Channel 7 are trying to kill off any Blacklist viewers to allow more reality shows. What’s next? A ripoff of The Great Australian Spelling Bee.

  3. I find it rather cute that some people still view overseas drama on local FTA still? Why, when you can source legally elsewhere without ad breaks or on-screen branding, and in HD.

    1. Where is The Blacklist available legally? I have returned to relying on FTA for my overseas shows this year, and Seven has been particularly frustrating.

  4. I think The Blacklist is only off air for House Rules finale last night and MasterChef grand final next week, and should be back the week after. However, I do question why Seven held the episodes until a couple of weeks ago. They could have aired on Tuesday nights instead of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.

    1. Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares gets more live viewers, especially young ones.

You just don’t get families sitting around the lounge room TV watching dramas, free from distraction, anymore. People have so many other options. And as soon as the networks start bumping and dumping dramas they lose the people in the habit of watching them every week too.

Fast-tracking the Blacklist in October and putting it on late after The X Factor, lost all the Blacklist viewers who weren’t at home watching The X Factor. They will never come back.

  5. You have got to be kidding me. There is finally an entertaining show that isn’t a reality series, and it is taken off air. By any chance, is it due to poor ratings or just stupid scheduling?

  6. Along with late starts times, this is why I no longer watch any dramas on the commercial networks. They only have themselves to blame.

  7. No DVD release date has been confirmed for Australian release (the distributors usually wait until the series has had a run on local FTA) but USA release is set for August 18.
Amazon’s price is just under US$45 but add $7 freight and today’s dollar conversion rate and you’re looking about @ A$72.
As the A$ falls, the price goes up.

  8. I for one dont give a toss what ch7 or 9 and 10 do with drama, I’m happy to wait for the DVD or Netflix. So glad l don’t have to watch their dyslexic antics. Aunty and SBS? Always!
