The Checkout: July 2

Price check please! Last new episode before ABC tries to sell us 3 repeats dressed up as "Best Of."

Tonight is the last new episode of The Checkout for the season.

After that ABC will air what it calls “three best-of episodes on Thursday July 9, 16 and 23 at 8pm.”

But for a show that takes everybody else to task over language, methinks we need a price-check on The Checkout. Is it reasonable to say 3 episodes are “best” -surely only 1 can be?

If this was a retailer selling us what we’d already purchased the show would be taking them to task. But it’s ok for ABC to dress up repeats? Be careful with the brand, guys….

Here’s what’s in the last new edition:

Germs are everywhere. It’s a Source of Confusion for Kirsten Drysdale and Zoë Norton Lodge.
How to get an Airline Tax Refund.
Alex Lee blends up the facts on the Nutribullet. Mmmm… kale and spinach. And activated almonds.
Hannah Reilly cracks the whip on the world of leather.
Craig Reucassel looks at what they pump into Pump Water. Quite a lot of sugar it turns out. More than two Freddo Frogs.
In F.U.Tube, Scott Abbot (aka Australian Consumer Law Man) delivers on TNT’s damaged goods.

8pm Thursday ABC.

  1. I don’t have a problem with the best of shows, its not the first time and won’t be the last. Its a show they can do this with even if it’s just to remind us of things as consumers.

Just not get TNT to deliver them LOL

  2. Just finished watching. At the end of the show, after a segment on TNT, they said that the “Best of” eps were delivered by TNT, which might explain why they’re not necessarily in the best condition!

  3. I agree with the best off episodes. You don’t need them. If they’re having a break just put a repeat on or a totally different ABC show.
