Nine appears to be experimenting with a simulcast of Today in the Perth market on GEM.
The simulcast begins at 5am, while remaining on Nine in that market.
No other city is simulcasting the show.
Nine had previously experimented with subtle programming changes in the Perth market in a bid to make inroads against the dominant Seven and Sunrise.
How about a week of shows from Perth instead?

HoW about the show being broadcast live into Perth on Gem from 3.30am-7.00am. Seems pointless simulcasting a delayed news program on both channels when theres an opportunity to use one channel to broadcast it live.
Both Today and Sunrise feature live news segments in WA.
The problem with this is that we no longer get a Gilmore Girls repeat, which I relied on as with cricket and rugby we miss a few eps.
It is ridiculous that programs are taped then replayed in Perth two hours later (three hours during Daylight Saving). All stations in Perth should simulcast the Sydney signal on one of their digital stations. How many times have Perth viewers had to wait to hear about major breaking news stories because of the two hour delay?
