ABC pips TEN, ratings week goes to Nine.

Ratings: It was back to the future last week when ABC overtook TEN with just 0.6% between them.

ABC slipped in front of TEN last week, echoing shades of 2014 when the public broadcaster
continually shunted the commercial network into fourth place.

Just 0.6% split the two networks last week. TEN was lowest on Saturday and Sunday nights.

But the week was again won by Nine, so close in primary channels with Seven, but separated by multichannels.

Seven News (Sun: 1.29m), Sunday Night (1.15m), Dogs Make You Laugh Out Loud (1.04,000) and The Force (850,000).

Australian Story (900,000), Grand Designs Revisited (865,000) and ABC News (822,000).

The Bachelor (Wed: 877,000), The Great Australian Spelling Bee (662,000), Family Feud (Simucast: 569,000) and TEN Eyewitness News (555,000).

Uranium: Twisting the Dragons Tail and Petra: Lost City of Stone (both 378,000) and Who Do You Think You Are? (374,000).

Nine easily won the demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nine was victorious on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday. Seven won Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. ABC bettered TEN on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Nine ranked first in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, while Adelaide and Perth stayed loyal to Seven.

  1. A show about spelling ….. added with umpteen cheaply made reality programs ….. you don’t need to be Einstein to work out why Ten is heading to 4th place ….. again …….

  2. With the amount of repeats on the ABC at the moment, for Ten to still be pushed into fourth place is an indictment of how unappetising their schedule must be.
