HBO is exploring the possibility of a Deadwood movie.
The cable network confirmed it is in “very preliminary discussions” to resurrect the Western series
which ran for three seasons.
Actor Garret Dillahunt, who played Francis Wilcott, ignited the chatter this week when he tweeted: “So uh….I’m hearing credible rumors about a #Deadwood movie.”
“Come on HBO,” he wrote. “You made the Entourage movie. Give the #Deadwood fans some closure.”
HBO previously announced two Deadwood movies when it cancelled the show in 2008, but did not progress.
“I don’t know that the last word has been said on the subject,” creator David Milch said in 2011. “I still nourish the hope that we’re going to get to do a little more work in that area.”

Awesome news…. I agree with mattcoil, Deadwood is one of the best shows ever. They better get Ian McShane on board though, because it wont be worth watching if Al Swearengen isnt there…
In my personal top three greatest TV shows of all time
Good news if it’s done correctly. I thought there was still more to explore, esp as each season was only 12 eps.
