  1. Watched The Voice on 9.
Recorded DWTStars on 7 and watched it after The Voice.
Recorded The Following on 9 to watch another day.
Recorded Covert Affairs on 7 to watch another day.

  2. As someone who actually likes watching talent/singing shows, I was underwhelmed with the performances on the voice last night with only a couple holding my attention, my biggest surprise was finding out that viewers have a week to vote, I was half expecting them to ask for postal votes, like back in the ‘olden’ days of Idol. Result shows should be on later the same night or the next day as in most other countries. It beggars belief that people at nine think this is acceptable in this day and age.

    • Yes, some dud performances but also a few standouts.
The two young, “cute” guys on the Madden’s team will be sure to get through as they will appeal to all the teenage girls out there who make up the majority of the public vote.

Really hope the older lady, Gail Page, goes further – loved her performance of You Don’t Own Me.
Love her smoky, sultry voice .

      • Both males on Madden team struck me as good performers, so should be saved for talent rather than cutesy factor. Agree Gail’s voice is memorable and I enjoy the point of difference.

Meanwhile, can someone explain to me what two Madden brothers has added to the show that 1 did not already bring? Sorry, he has added nothing. Please compare to what Jessie J has brought.

        • Yes, agree both of those young guys were also really, really good, especially Joe, the busker.Their good looks are, of course, a bonus.
I think it is almost a cert Nathan will be saved by the public vote.
Gail is wonderful – definitely shades of Karise Eden in her voice but she is even better.

Re the Maddens, agree that Benji has brought absolutely nothing to the table.
Joel was far better on his own.
Don’t much like Jessie J but she is certainly charismatic, genuine and honest .

          • We don’t mind the two Madden brothers but one would be ok as well e.g. Joel.
We do not like Jessie J. At all. We find her very annoying 🙁

  3. bettestreep2008

I initially thought it was a dud night for Ten – but then noticed all their shows from 5pm to 8.30pm made the Top 20 – and the MF repeats did well in the demos too.

What dragged them down was CSI-Cyber at 8.30pm. It’s failed and will soon be dumped on One.

      • Secret Squïrrel

Yeah, you can tell because one of SBS’s programs made the Top 20.

On Saturday, a traditionally poor night for Ten (and good for ABC), ABC1 outrated all Ten’s channels combined. They might’v been expected to bounce back on Sunday but they had nothing to offer other than Madame Secretary. That schedule looks like a Thursday or poss Tuesday, not what is for the biggest night of the week.

        • Secret Squïrrel

Edit: “…but they had nothing to offer *full stop*”
I hadn’t realised that Madame Secretary was also a repeat. Ten obviously just threw in the towel last night and hope to pick it up again tonight with the launch of Spelling Bee.

    • I watched CSI: Cyber. An alternative to dancing and singing contests which I have no interest in. It was also on half an hour or so earlier than it has been.
