Tim Worner’s contract as CEO of Seven West Media has been extended to 2018, according to a media report today.

The former head of programming, who was made Seven chief executive in July 2013, replaced David Leckie as Seven Network CEO in December 2011. His current contract was due to expire in 2017.

The news comes after a recent media report bizarrely suggested his time could be up due to the failure of Restaurant Revolution.

Today’s Fairfax report confirming Worner’s extension is also at odds with a News Corp article suggesting he may step down next year or so.

“Many are questioning whether there is an appetite in the Stokes family for change at the chief executive level,” News claims.

Leckie’s name has been increasingly amongst speculation of an executive return, either at Seven, Nine or TEN (depending on which article one reads on any given week).

He is currently a consultant to Seven.

  1. Yes that rather strange and malicious story in the Murdoch gossip pages was obviously printed to aid someone’s agenda. Now I wonder who may have wanted to try and destabilise Tim’s tenure… no one in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, surely ?
