i was one of the 200,000 i’m sorry…i just couldn’t resist lol
Cats make Channel 7 LOL! ?
So Cats Make You Laugh Out Loud is also number 2 in all the demos to Hotplate, with the 18-49 Demo it only being 3,000 viewers behind Hotplate, for what Cats MYLOL must have cost Seven they must be ecstatic. Will really be interested to see the Timeshifted ratings on these two shows when they come out next week, as I am curious if anyone actually recorded Cats MYLOL to watch later.
And Nine would not be happy that the ‘cats’ soundly beat out their cooking show…. after all the kerfuffle ………..
I suspect many watched because of all the publicity….any advertising is good …people watch out of curiosity….
I watched Outback Truckers on 7mate which is rating well & later Archer on ABC2.
Can’t say I agree with comments about Cats being a denigration of FTA or viewer standards. On the contrary, I see Cats winning it’s time slot and demolishing the tripe (pun intended) it replaced as vindication that viewers are sick and tired of the crud being passed off as reality TV specifically and FTA programming in general.
Wake up FTA, before the game is well and truly over… wait, wat!
I tend to agree it is partly due to people being sick of the same old thing all the time. I think what has most people flabbergasted is the fact that it’s been lifted directly from YouTube, where it has been freely available – in full – for several weeks. If it had been an in-house production with original material, people may have been less mocking about it. I like funny animal videos as much as the next person, but this was just lazy, cheap prime-time programming and shouldn’t be rewarded with so many viewers.
I think I’m officially embarrassed to be Australian. People really will watch anything. Then again, I can’t say much about the alternatives, either.
Meow! Good one David. Strange that so many people would watch a whole lot of videos of cats, seeing that they are already available on YouTube.
I fear this will lead to a spate of copycat programs.
Excellent work. Comment of the day right there.
Thank You Australia, you have just lowered the quality of TV we will see in the future by actually watching youtube clips on television of effing cats. Well done, expect more of this shit in the future, especially when 9 follow suit!
Cats make Channel 7 programmers laugh out loud. Congratulations Australia………..
Viewers get the cats they deserve…..
I’m still in shock. Not only did it rate but it won its timeslot. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at how well it did.
