  1. The Spelling Bee is a genuine alternative to what’s on offer elsewhere. Some of the kids are cute and smart, the show is well presented, however gripping and entertaining television it most certainly is not. Watching grass grow comes to mind.
As for those boffins watching The Hotplate……Don’t. You’re only encouraging them to make more of the same mindless crud.
With a bit of luck the courts may remove it from our airwaves anyway, here’s hoping.
Watched Harry’s dogs, cats, rabbits, pigs etc. performing and misbehaving, loved every minute of it and laughed my head off.

  2. What I find disturbing is that Seven was still able to come second last night in both network and primary channel shares with a show that rated only slightly better than SBS’s WDYTYA at 7.30pm. Seven will be grateful they have a strong regular multi channel line up on 7TWO and mate that give them an extra nearly 10% on Tuesday nights.

  3. The Hot Plate is going OK. Ratings getting up to early MCA figures. I refuse to watch it, but several friends say they enjoy watching THP and reckon it’s better than MKR. The Spelling Bee ratings are falling and not surprisingly so. Will keep dropping to about 600,000. Winners & Losers is not doing very well. 7 are in trouble and need some new programming very soon.

    • Really enjoying The Hotplate too.
Surprisingly entertaining – probably due to the mix of contestants.
The Japanese cook is very likeable.
The gay guys have done a complete turnaround and are almost too “nice” now.
Wonder how long they can reign the catty comments in?

  4. Escape to the Wild was great TV. That is what I call reality TV.
I reckon 10 will be happy if it can maintain 800k for Spelling Bee. It’s still big numbers for them.

    • Yes, loved Escape To The Wild.
What a gorgeous island. Felt a bit sorry for those kids though…way too isolated, especially for the oldest boy.
Couldn’t help noticing how close that house was built to the water – they would be gone in a king tide or tsunami.
Enjoying Spelling Bee – a shame the two youngest boys, Jack and Josh, were eliminated.
Jack in particular is such a sweetie.

  5. Loved the double episode of winners and losers last night. The different storylines. Certainly has changed a lot since it first began.

  6. Spelling Bee has me hooked! So fresh and different. I hope it doesn’t drop off too much. I love it. Sucks to see The Rip Off doing well for Nine. I give kudos when its deserved but not for this show. Doesn’t deserve it.

  7. Love The Great Australian Spelling Bee the Kids are very funny and entertaining full marks to Channel 10 for giving viewers an alternative to Cooking and Building shows
