British viewers are set to get Gogglebox Kids, a one-off Christmas special on Channel 4.

Groups of children aged up to 13 years will be offering their opinions on key moments of 2015 from the cakes on Bake Off to the fate of Cecil the Lion.

Studio Lambert Creative Director Tim Harcourt says “We have seen that kids say the funniest things on TV, and this version of the Channel 4 hit will allow school children from different backgrounds to do this as they react to their screens – big and small.

“We think that this Christmas special will show more than their views on visual content and TV today, it will reveal how they see the world around them.”

So far there are no plans for an ankle-biters version in Australia, but we have had Junior MasterChef, The Voice Kids and The Great Australian Spelling Bee -all from Shine Australia which produces Gogglebox here (now Endemol Shine).

Production on a second season of Gogglebox is understood to be underway, meaning it can’t be too far away. On that note, can we get them to adjudicate the Hotplate / MKR case?
