US actress Yvonne Craig, best known as Batgirl in the Batman series, has died, aged 78.
She died at her California home after suffering from breast cancer that had spread to her liver, according to reports.
Craig was TV’s original Batgirl, joining for the final season in 1967, and performing all her own stunts. She had previously starred opposite Elvis Presley in It Happened at the World’s Fair and Kissin’ Cousins.
She went on to guest-star in an episode of Star Trek as well as other shows, including The Six Million Dollar Man and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

I was surprised to hear Yvonne was 78, which puts her in her early 30s as Batgirl. I thought she was much younger. Another child hood icon gone too soon.
